Matisse Inspired Screen Printing Class for Kids

On the hunt for things to do in Bristol with kids? Treat your little one to a host of creative fun with this child-friendly screen printing class!

A truly colourful and creative experience for your child, this hands-on workshop will help them explore the process of Henri Matisse before designing and screen printing their own Matisse-inspired t-shirt or tote bag.

Screen printing involves transferring a stencilled design onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and a squeegee. Guided by friendly designer Steph, your child will explore this super fun creative process in her studio on Bristol's Harbourside.

It doesn't matter if your kids aren't usually the artistic type, as this fun class offers a hands-on introduction to the screen printing process and tools. They'll get a brilliant chance to explore the work of Matisse, focusing on his cut-outs, before mixing colours, preparing stencils and printing!

Your child will finish the day with either a tote bag or t-shirt to use or wear and proudly say they have designed and printed it themselves!

Please note:
Steph is a fully qualified Primary School Teacher and DBS registered. Children are supervised at all times. Steph is happy for you to leave your child while the workshop is taking place. All materials are included.

A beginner's class, no previous experience needed.
  Your child will walk away with their own Matisse inspired tote bag or t-shirt.
  It's going to get inky so please send your child in clothes that you don't mind getting paint on or please provide an oversized t-shirt or apron. There will be a short break so please provide your child with snacks.
