Take Your Piece Home with You on the Same Day

Because eco-resin has a quick setting time -- you can take your finished piece home with you the same day!

In this home décor casting workshop in London, you’ll learn how to cast your own homeware using an eco-friendly, water-based mineral composite. It’s the same material we use in the studio for briksn pieces. You’ll make one to two finished pieces yourself to take home, choosing from trays, coasters, trinket dishes and candle holders.
You don’t need any experience. Everyone is shown each step, and I’ll be on hand the whole time, so you can feel relaxed and supported throughout. This is a hands-on activity where you’ll learn how to measure and mix the material properly, add colour and create your own unique designs.
I’ll start by showing you how the material works, how to measure and mix it properly, and how to add colour. Then you’ll choose your moulds from a selection and pick your colours.
Techniques you can try:
  • Marbling: swirling two or more colours together.
  • Colour blocking: pouring layers or sections of solid colour.
  • Plain: a single colour for a clean, simple finish.
Once you’ve poured, your pieces need around 20 minutes to set before they can come out of the mould. While they set, I’ll show you how to sand and finish them, and how to look after them at home. Then you’ll demould your pieces and tidy up the edges.
The pieces carry on hardening for 24 hours after the class, so you’ll take them home in a box with care instructions. It’s a relaxed, creative workshop that works well on your own, with a friend or as a group.
You’ll leave with the confidence to understand how to cast and finish your own homeware, along with unique pieces you’ve made yourself. Your pieces will continue hardening at home, ready to become thoughtful and practical additions to your space.
I come to you:
I bring the whole workshop to you: materials, moulds, colours, gloves and aprons. You just need a room with some tables, whether that's your office, your home or a venue you've booked. It's an easy option for team socials, away days, hen dos, birthdays and other private groups, because your guests don't have to travel anywhere.
Recent testimonial:
Deliveroo offices: Thank you so much for such a great session, Francis! Our team had a great time. Everyone left relaxed and proud of what they’d made, and a few were already asking when we could do another one. Learning a new skill and taking something home was a real highlight, and it was a rare chance for colleagues to switch off and enjoy each other’s company. We’d recommend you to anyone, and we hope to work with you again!

briksn is my small homeware studio in East London, where I make trays, coasters, candle holders and other small homeware items by hand from an eco-friendly mineral composite. But I also love showing other people how to do it!
I run relaxed, hands-on casting workshops where you’ll learn to mix, colour and pour your own homeware, from marbled trinket trays to terrazzo coasters and everything in between. No experience needed.
I bring all the materials, moulds and colours, and can come to you for team socials, members’ events and private parties.
