I started Makehaus Studios around a simple idea: making things is good for us.

Creativity has always been a big part of my life. I trained as an applied artist, studying ceramics, glass and metals at university. I'm also a lecturer, and Makehaus brings those two parts of my life together: making and teaching.

What I love about making is the chance to switch off from everything else for a while, work with beautiful materials and get completely absorbed in the process. I wanted to create workshops that give other people the space to experience that too.

That's where Makehaus came from. I wanted to create the kind of workshops I'd genuinely want to go to myself: small groups, carefully chosen materials, a relaxed atmosphere and something you'll be proud to take home at the end.

Through pop-up workshops in Brighton, we'll be creating jewellery, paper art and other handmade pieces. You don't need any previous experience; I'll teach you the techniques you need and give you plenty of space to make the piece your own.

Alongside our regular workshops, I also run private sessions for birthdays, hen parties and pre-wedding celebrations, team days, corporate events and other occasions. They're a chance to get people together, create something and spend a few hours doing something a little different.
