What to expect:
  • An introduction to the fundamentals of wet felting and how wool fibres bond together.
  • Guidance on laying out wool fibres over a resist to create the structure of your hat.
  • Techniques for shaping and sizing your hat to achieve a comfortable fit.
  • The opportunity to experiment with colour, texture, and simple embellishments.
  • A chance to try dry needle felting techniques to add finishing details.

A visual artist, Helen specialises in Textile & Mixed Media Art.
Her practice has an emphasis on upcycling and the use of innovative textile art materials and techniques. She embraces a wide range of practices including both hand and free machine embroidery, wet and dry needle felting, surface fabric design, and embellishment.
She also runs regular Creative Textile Workshops both at her own studio and for groups and events.
Helen gives inspirational talks, produces on-demand digital guidance, and blogs and creates kits for us to get creative at home.
Helen aims to bring some peace and play to our every day and believes the creative process can be therapeutic and is far more important than the finished product. She has been told that her sessions are "better than therapy"
