Lulu Lupin: A Magical Ukulele Adventure for Kids

A playful, confidence-building music experience in London.

5 to 9 years     1.5 hours Class size 1 to 20 guests       £20

Join us for this fun, creative ukulele experience in London. Children are invited to step into the world of Lulu Lupin – the wolf who loved music – and join FantaLupa, Long Paw, and Tippy Tail for a whimsical, story-led ukulele adventure at Jacksons Lane, a much-loved, family-friendly arts centre in Highgate known for its creative and high-quality programmes for young people.
No prior music experience is needed at all. This session is designed to be playful, welcoming, and confidence-building, gently introducing children to music through storytelling, movement, and imagination in a warm, supportive environment.
What to expect:
  • An immersive musical story brought to life with tale props, gestures, voice play, and body rhythm.
  • Hands-on exploration of real ukuleles, including strumming, tapping, and trying simple chords.
  • Guided musical play that follows the children’s ideas and energy.
  • Collaborative songwriting, where the group builds a simple song together.
  • A fun group performance at the end of the session.
  • A relaxed, engaging atmosphere focused on participation and enjoyment.
By the end of the experience, children will have explored music in a creative and imaginative way, built confidence with an instrument, and taken part in creating and performing their own song. It’s a lively introduction to music-making that centres on fun and self-expression.

Hello, I’m Margie Jay — the founder of Ukulittle®, a trademarked brand dedicated to creative learning through ukulele, storytelling, and playful expression.
Over the past decade, I’ve developed a holistic approach that brings music to life for children and families, both in person and online. I’ve taught hundreds of students, led jam sessions across the UK and Italy, and even brought my work to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, where I presented my animal character UkuLeela™ and shared my vision with international publishers and educators.
I specialise in teaching children aged 4–10, and I’m passionate about helping families connect through music — through rhythm, voice, creative play, and encouraging first steps with a real instrument. My classes often blend singing, improvisation, and gentle performance skills to help children grow in confidence while having real musical fun.
I’ve collaborated with nurseries, schools, and parent groups, and I’m currently developing project-based collaborations in North London.
Credentials — Enhanced DBS (on the UK Update Service, certificate no. held).
I’d love to welcome curious six-year-olds into a playful, creative introduction to music — where they can sing, strum, and shine in their own unique way.
