Start with a Drawing
Bring a design or be inspired by the still life drawing exercises that will guide you to make your own drawing for your own linocut template. All materials for drawing and carving provided!
Carve Your Linocut Block
You will be shown techniques of how to carve your linocut block. This will include different linocut techniques such as the jigsaw and reduction printmaking techniques.
Ink and Print
Learn the colour mixing and inking process to create prints from your carved design. You will be given a variety of papers and cards to experiment with to create your own finished artwork.
All Done
By the end of the course, you'll have a host of new linocutting skills and your completed prints to take home.
- Week 1: Introduction to linocut and beginner techniques.
- Week 2: Explore the jigsaw linocut method.
- Week 3: Learn reduction linocut techniques.
- Week 4: Continue reduction printing or experiment with your own ideas.
- Develop skills in carving, inking, and printing.
- Gain an understanding of different approaches to multi-colour prints.

Lianna’s creative practice is focused on printmaking with a background in Fashion Print Design. Her practice incorporates drawing, mixing color combinations, and layering different techniques. Lianna explores drawing from still life, mark-making, and collaging. She connects the printmaking process with meditative and prayerful practices that provide space to slow down and nurture the art of noticing the beauty of nature and everyday life. The repetitive and hands-on process of carving a print block allows her to be deliberate with each mark and learn patience in the creative process.Lianna has been integrating the creative arts with faith as a means of fostering connection within communities and nurturing spirituality for the past 2 years. Lianna runs workshops that involve creative processes such as printmaking, pottery, and painting. These workshops have encouraged people to explore new creative skills and foster deeper connections with one another. Lianna has delivered over 25 workshops that have reached more than 1, 000 people of all ages and backgrounds, from toddlers to seniors. The workshops Lianna offers are either arts-focused or combine arts with faith.
