Drypoint is a form of intaglio printmaking where you score directly into a plate by hand using a sharp tool – a technique that produces beautifully rich, velvety lines thanks to the burr of material that forms around each mark and holds the ink.Your image will be scratched into a transparent plastic plate, which means you can use a pre-made drawing as a guide underneath if you'd like. Once your plate is etched, you'll learn how to ink it up using water-based inks and run it through a traditional etching press onto high-quality paper – a deeply satisfying moment that brings the whole process together.You'll leave with multiple prints in a range of colours: a small collection of one-of-a-kind works made entirely by hand, and a set of skills that open the door to a whole new area of making.
