Make a regal goldwork design in this in-person embroidery course.

6.5 hours Class size 5 to 10 guests       £165

Learn to embroider a beautiful Elizabethan border with goldwork at this embroidery course.
Your goldwork embroidery class introduces you to the art of goldwork, including passing, stitching pearl purls, essing, and creating intricate flowers. You'll learn to stitch the gold passing first. Guided by your expert teacher, you will also learn how to plunge and finish the passing thread. You'll then discover how to initiate the pearl purl and how to create sharp angles.
The next stage of your embroidery course will be to learn to stitch a silver grid with a smooth silver purl. Following along with your teacher, you will create a flower to define the centre with a loop stitch in purls. Finally, you will learn how to create essing to add depth to your intricate pattern.
These embroidery classes are aimed at those with some knowledge of embroidery who would like to learn or improve their goldwork techniques. This in-person embroidery course will allow you to develop at your own pace, with the opportunity for one-to-one guidance from your tutor thanks to small class sizes.
The Elizabethan border will need to be finished after the class, and I will make my recorded class videos available for 6 months complimentary. In addition to the in-person class and the techniques learned, you will be able to watch the videos as many times as you like.
You have the option to choose a white or black background to work on (just select the colour you'd like when you book).
By the end of your course, you'll have some wonderful new goldwork embroidery skills, as well as your beautiful piece of embroidery to keep.
