Immerse yourself in the tranquil world of Lavender. Join us for an exclusive collaboration.
Lead by 'The Alternative Florist', you will discover the art of crafting exquisite felt flower stems, capturing the essence of this beloved flower in your own creation. Learn this technique while immersing yourself in the calming ambience of our workshop space overlooking the rolling hills of Rossendale.
Polefield Cottage, built in 1647, is steeped in history. The cottage will have seen Lavender used in many ways over the years as a health remedy, a perfume, and room fragrance. After the Rose, Lavender is one of the most well-known plants in the UK.
You will go on to make two further products to complement your floral bouquet:
- Each participant will craft their own 100ml luxurious soy wax candle in a candle tin, delicately scented with 100% natural Lavender essential oil to infuse your home with its soothing aroma.
- Learn how to make a specially curated ‘Sleep Well’ Lavender spray to help you drift off into a restful slumber, again scented with Lavender essential oil.
We will gift you a handmade Lavender-infused pillow insert as a thank you for your visit.
While you sit in our beautiful, tranquil house and relax in the surroundings, we will also treat you to a full Afternoon Tea comprising an assortment of freshly made delicate sandwiches, homemade cakes, followed by scones with jam & cream. Hot and cold drinks will also be provided.

'Beyond what you make' is the ethos behind Polefield creative workshop. We see our sessions as a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Based 30 mins by car from Manchester city centre in the beautiful Rossendale valley. Polefield cottage built in 1642 is steeped in history, a beautiful, peaceful environment in which to create and also relax.
We offer small classes with experienced teachers. Materials and equipment is of a professional standard. As an added extra treat each class is also accompanied by a delicious homemade cream tea, This is included in the price of your class.
