How did you get started with your craft and/or business, and why are you passionate about it? Was there a pivotal moment that sparked your interest?
Why do you love teaching?
What's something special or interesting about you or your experiences? Or maybe something most people don't know about your craft? Our audience wants to connect with you as a real, relatable person.
I've always been a creative person, growing up I had a huge love of drawing and sketching, but it wasn't until secondary school that I fell in love with fashion design, and how fashion and clothing could be considered art, after discovering some of Alexander McQueen's work.
I studied Fashion Design at Grays School of Art, graduating with a BA Hons degree in 2013.
Since 2014, I have been designing and making handcrafted bags and leather accessories under my brand Fernweh Uk, where I make products inspired by the landscape of Scotland.
With over fifteen years of sewing experience, over the last few years I've been sharing some of my own skills, and sharing my love for sewing, leathercraft, making and mending.
I've run workshops at a variety of locations, at my own studio, at pop up events and even as a guest lecturer at my university - which was a real "pinch me" moment!
I hope to offer a variety of classes that are fun and engaging, as well as educational and break down techniques into fun projects.
