Calling all jewellers! Join this laser welding workshop and discover how this game-changing tool can seriously speed up your commissions, repairs and open up a whole new world of design possibilities.
Led by goldsmith Paul Paine, who's spent over 45 years in the trade and owns Southchurch Jewellers in Southend-on-Sea, this session is your chance to learn from a true expert. Working alongside Freeform Fabrication, Paul will guide you through using laser welders to speed up your making, fix things you've never been able to fix before and troubleshoot your design ideas with confidence.
Whether you're completely new to laser welding and thinking about trying out tool hire for the first time, or you're already familiar with lasers and after some dedicated tutoring time to progress your skills or try a different machine, this workshop is built around you.
By the end of the session, you'll walk away with a real confidence boost and a newfound understanding of how to make the laser work for you.

Silver & Steel is an award winning, one of a kind jewellery workshop and gallery space in the heart of Bristol.
This is a contemporary Jewellery Gallery and Workshop space with a twist. Set up by local jeweller Bethany May Silver, Silver & Steel aims to make the jewellery industry more accessible and tackle fast fashion culture in jewellery buying habits. We have created a custom built space for jewellery making and are using it to platform local independent designers, introduce people to the craft and create a space for local makers to work and learn together.
Silver & Steel values community, accessibility and sustainability. We use 100% recycled silver in all of our workshops (gold available on request). We feel that coming together to learn, shop and invest in the craft is good for the future and we love to connect people with quality design that is light on the earth.
Jewellery making is an empowering experience and we are passionate about sharing that with people. Our workshops are taught by experienced professional jewellers with a collective teaching experience of over 30 years. We are rated 5* on google and have the best reviews in Bristol!
