Come and knit a tiny Christmas stocking -- a lovely little festive make that's quick enough to make again and again once you know how.
And no knitting in the round required! This little stocking is knitted flat on ordinary knitting needles and sewn together at the end, making it a very approachable Christmas project.
In this workshop, you'll knit your own mini stocking, learning how simple increases and decreases create the familiar stocking shape. We'll take you through the pattern step by step, including the shaping, making up, and finishing, so you'll leave knowing how to make plenty more at home.
Once you've made one, there are all sorts of things you can do with them: hang them on the Christmas tree, string several together to make a garland, use them to decorate presents, or tuck a tiny chocolate or little gift inside.
Choose your colours and make yours traditional, bright, stripy, or completely unlike any Christmas stocking you've ever seen.
This class is suitable for people who can already cast on, knit, and purl. You don't need to have done increases, decreases, or shaping before – we'll teach you those during the class.

What you'll get
  • All yarn and materials needed to make your mini Christmas stocking are included, along with the pattern so you can make more at home.
  • Knitting needles will be available to use during the workshop.

Knowledge required
  • This workshop is suitable for knitters who already know how to cast on, knit, and purl.
  • You don't need to know how to knit in the round—the stocking is knitted flat on ordinary knitting needles and sewn together afterwards.
  • You also don't need to know how to increase, decrease, or shape your knitting before you come, as we'll teach you those skills during the workshop.
What to bring
  • Just bring yourself! Everything you need for the workshop will be provided.
  • If you have your own favourite knitting needles that you prefer to use, you're very welcome to bring them with you.
