Creative kids will love crafting a unique Halloween decoration that is certain to set a spooky scene! This mache pumpkin project is a great way to get the Halloween fun started and it’ll teach them all about making with mache.
The tutorial is designed for kids aged three years and over. They’ll have an expert Hobbycraft colleague showing them every step of the way, with a fantastic variety of craft materials provided in store to help them transform one spooky pumpkin – from googly eyes to tissue paper! There are so many ways to make something unique.
Whether kids have never made with mache before or they just love getting stuck in with this versatile craft, the workshop will be a fun way to embrace Halloween excitement.
All participants will walk away with pumpkins to put on display. Please note, you may need to allow for drying time.
Workshop suitable for ages 3+ years. All kids’ craft workshops require adult supervision. One ticket is required per child.
Our workshop spaces in some stores are located in open areas, and we will endeavour to minimise interruption from other crafters.

- 4/5 from Lesley McGovern, attended Oct 2026: There were only my 2 grandchildren there. It was fun - even I learnt how to make paper mache on an existing pumpkin. Although it was not a special occasion 45 mins was certainly enough for the 6 yr old - I think it was too long for the grandaughter who was nearly 4yrs. She really was unable to cut anything & I had to do most things for her. Glitter was her thing but nevertheless I think she enjoyed it. She was reluctant to have anything to do with bats etc but succumed in the end. I really think the sessions should be geared to 4/5yr olds. The teacher was patient & good.
