Would you like to carve your own one-of-a-kind silver ring? Try this jewellery-making class and learn traditional techniques, creating your own jewellery to take home.

Handcrafted jewellery is unique, precious and meaningful. Make it extra special by making it yourself with this craft class! You'll be guided through the process of making a cast for a unique ring of your own by talented and experienced jewellery maker, Ania, giving you the chance to relax, get creative and enjoy the experience.

Discover the old technique of lost wax carving to create your beautiful jewellery! As you create, your tutor will give you an insight into how to approach this new medium and you'll be shown how to carve your very own unique ring cast using jewellers' wax with a selection of tools. Your teacher will talk you through the lost wax casting process, the qualities of different forms of wax, wax carving tools and what can be achieved with this technique.

As you progress through this jewellery class, you will learn how to cut, carve and manipulate wax to realise your designs. Once you have carved your unique design you will be shown how to prepare it for casting so it can be reproduced in gold, silver or other metals.

By the end of your jewellery class, you'll have your own wax ring ready which then is sent to casting. Your teacher can arrange the casting and finishing of your ring in sterling silver for approximately £20 + postage to you at home, depending on the weight and size of your item. You will learn on the course how to estimate the cost of casting for your finished item.

Art and creativity are important for everyone. You don’t have to be a professional to be a creative person. My mission as an artist is to share my knowledge and passion for my craft and to inspire you. In an increasingly busy and technological world, it’s hard to carve out time for quiet, stillness and focused work. Taking one of the workshops will offer you a chance to learn something new in a fun, creative and relaxed atmosphere where I will give you an insight into my world.

My jewellery comes from her observations of the natural world, from the largest expanses down to the smallest particle. My work is sculptural, given depth by subtle characteristics such as detailed surface textures, intricate shapes or uneven sculptural qualities. Trained in fine art, my practice is informed by contemporary art and found natural materials. Drawing inspiration from the landscape and geological topographies, my hand-crafted pieces interpret and reimagine the effortless beauty of nature’s structures, forms and curves, rendering them into tangible, wearable objects.

I use traditional carving and casting techniques in combination with in place casting of precious stones. Each piece is one of a kind and has the unique, imperfect and tactile quality of a handmade object.
