Shimenawa is a Japanese cultural symbol of protection, prosperity, and good fortune. In this relaxing hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the techniques behind making these beautiful decorations while exploring the cultural meaning behind this centuries-old tradition.
With guidance from our friendly instructors, you’ll create your own handmade Shimenawa decoration to take home — a meaningful piece that can bring positive energy and a touch of Japanese culture into your space.
No experience is needed, making this workshop perfect for beginners, craft lovers, and anyone curious about Japanese traditions and mindful creative activities.
What you’ll do:
  • Learn about the symbolism of Shimenawa in Japanese culture
  • Work with traditional materials such as rice straw and natural decorative elements
  • Create your own Japanese Shimenawa with dried blooms to take home
