I taught myself to crochet when I was 14 years old, which is over 50 years ago now! No video tutorials then, so I taught myself from a little crochet booklet, which I was delighted to discover has been reprinted in recent years.So, over the course of the past 50 years, I have crocheted pretty much everything... christening outfits, baby clothes, belts, tops, hats, blankets... too many to mention here.My real passion, though, is teaching others how to crochet, and I have held dozens of workshops over the years, in various locations, including Hobbycraft.I'm delighted that the craft of crochet is experiencing something of a resurgence among women, and some men, of all ages. So, it is with this in mind that I am once again offering workshops to complete beginners in my locality, which is Stirlingshire in Scotland.Fun Fact: ITV used to hold annual telethons, similar to Children In Need, and I pulled off an amazing crochet-themed fundraising event. It involved crocheting squares, dressed in Victorian costume, while traveling first class from Northampton to Glasgow and back in the day. As well as the cash raised on the day, I was sponsored for every square crocheted, and the finished blanket was also sold for the cause.
