I’m James Lark, an artist, storyteller, and firm believer that creativity isn’t something you’re born with… it’s something you unlock.After 20 years teaching art and photography in secondary schools, I founded OhMyArt to focus on something I care deeply about: helping adults reconnect with creativity. Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact art can have, not just in what you create, but in how it makes you feel. Slowing down, switching off, and getting lost in the process can be incredibly powerful for your wellbeing and mental health.As a professional portrait and figurative artist, specialising in oil painting, I bring both technical skill and real teaching experience into every session. But my approach is simple, make it accessible, make it enjoyable, and make it yours.My classes are relaxed, social, and full of energy. Expect good music, a bit of laughter, and plenty of encouragement. I’ll guide you step-by-step when you need it, but I’ll also give you the freedom to explore your own style, because the best work always comes from you, not a template.Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who hasn’t picked up a brush in years, this is a space where you can build confidence, try something new, and surprise yourself.By the end of a session, it’s not just about the artwork you take home, it’s about that moment where you think, “I didn’t know I could do that.”
