Hi, I’m Charise. I am an artist based in Newport and have been teaching marbling since 2023. I started marbling in the pandemic and what started out as a hobby quickly became an obsession. I love the sensory, intuitive, and meditative aspects of marbling. "Instead of stressing about trying to draw something perfectly, you play with colour and pattern till you achieve an image that you like. There is no right or wrong and every piece is beautiful chaos, a one off, that can never be recreated. This art form offers so much opportunity for exploration with the ability to marble materials such as paper, leaves, pebbles, bone, shells, glass, wood and fabric. The sky really is the limit."
I have taught marbling at Shambala and Collective festivals and at Brazier’s Park. I am about to teach at UWE in Bristol and I regularly run introduction workshops in Bristol.
I am mixed raced and neuro diverse, I have ADHD and Dyspraxia. I have worked with people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues from ages 3 to 96.
