Knowledge required
All skill levels are welcome to attend, but this workshop is aimed at complete beginners—no previous experience necessary. It is also a good refresher, so if, like the many people I meet at craft markets and fairs, you tried lino printing at school but haven’t done it for a while, why not come and give it a go and get your skills up to scratch!
What to bring
Please bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.Please bring a couple of sketches/drawings or images you would like to carve and print. We will be working on lino blocks that measure approximately 20x15cm (about A5 size), and we’ll be printing using a single colour, so please bear this in mind when thinking about your designs.Your work may be too wet to take home. It can be collected from the studio at a later date. If you can, please let us know when you will be collecting so we can be available to unlock the studio.You are welcome to bring a lidded bottle of water with you, but we kindly ask that you do not bring food into the studio.Refreshments are available at our on-site café, Blend, until 4pm.

After the brewery’s closure in 1937, the site fell into disuse and was nearly lost to demolition. Thanks to a visionary local group, two of the remaining buildings were restored and transformed into craft workshops, opening as Cirencester Workshops in 1978. Its mission is to champion craft — making it, learning it, and supporting the people who do it. Its courses, workshops, makers’ studios, 100% UK-made craft shop, and café all contribute to a vibrant creative hub at the heart of Cirencester.
