Have you ever wanted to create your own personalised mug or handmade plates for your dinner table? Then look no further, you will be offered a warm welcome to my studio, complete with a cup of tea or coffee to help you settle in and which will be regularly offered throughout the class! I will then introduce myself as well as give you a brief overview of the studio and the tools you'll be using during the session.
Then using a range of handbuilding techniques to demonstrate from pinch pots, coiling building to the slab technique, you'll be equipped to create your own personalised mug, plate, or bowl and anything in between! So come armed with ideas as the options are limitless as to what you can create. You'll learn step by step how to initially shape, form, and build a mug with plenty of time for more ideas afterwards. As I will be on hand to guide you and offer tips as needed.
Once your mug is finished, I will take care of the glazing and firing. Your finished mug and other wonderful work will be ready for collection in 4-6 weeks. If you prefer, you can have it posted to you for a small additional fee payable on the day.
This workshop offers a friendly and supportive environment where you can learn new skills and create a personal piece to take home!
What you'll get
Once your three-hour session is complete for no extra cost, your fantastic range of work will be fired and glazed in a colour of your choice from soft yellow to deep blue, luscious green to chocolate brown. Examples of which will be provided on the day. With students typically creating up to six pieces each per class.

I am a trained ceramicist having previously studied Glass, Ceramics, Jewellery and Metalwork at the University for the Creative Arts. After graduating I began working in a pottery studio in Lewes where I developed my expertise and love for throwing. Having previously explored the depths of hand building at university.
My work is inspired by geological rocks and the natural processes that shape them. This influence is evident in the detailed textures, shapes and glazes I apply to my ceramics.
I am known for my friendly and outgoing nature. I love to teach as it allows me to enjoy meeting new people and helping them create their own pieces. I takes pride in seeing others happy with their work and the new as well as varied ideas students have brought.
In my studio, I offers guidance and support, making the creative process accessible to everyone, whether you're new to ceramics or want to improve your skills. Which has given me joy to make a difference in peoples lives for a short period, that my students didn't think previously possible using a creative means they haven't tried before.
