Come and learn the basic techniques of ceramics in this 2.5-hour introduction to hand-building with clay. My studio is calm and peaceful and set in a beautiful park. My workshop is the perfect activity to discover different ways of working and create a few unique pieces.
I will teach you how to master the fundamentals, and once you have the basics, the options with clay are endless! I always encourage your own individuality and will help you to develop your own style as you create.
This class is a two-part experience. In your first session, you will build your pieces, and I will then bisque fire them for you. You can return to the studio around three weeks later for the second part – another fun session where you get to glaze your work! You can get creative with colour, patterns, and decorating techniques on your own unique pieces. After a final firing, they will be ready for you to collect.
You’ll finish this experience with a collection of beautiful, hand-built ceramics that you've made entirely by yourself, along with the confidence to continue your journey with clay.

I started drawing at the age of 7 which lead to painting and many other materials. Then in 2008 when I started a fine art degree course I began to use clay and have not stopped. Clay really does open up another world, it’s fun, exciting, therapeutic and has endless capabilities. I work in both ceramics and bronze. I have created corporate and private commissions large and small. Over the years I have also done many talks to groups about my work, and I have also done demonstrations and work-alongs with big groups and home educated children to mention a few. I love to pass on what I have learned. After completing my fine art degree I wanted to learn more about clay so I joined a ceramics MA course and gained a master’s degree in ceramics. I now teach small groups in ceramics from my studio. It is a friendly relaxed and fun environment to come into!
