Learn how to use plants to create beautiful colour at our Introduction to Botanical Dyes session!

3 hours Class size 1 to 6 (public classes), 1 to 8 label £48

In this workshop, you'll discover the art of natural dyeing using plants and kitchen scraps. Led by Anna, who integrates these techniques into her art, you'll gain hands-on experience in extracting colours from botanical sources. By the end of the session, you'll take home your own naturally dyed samples and possess the knowledge to continue your exploration at home.
During the class, you'll:
  • Learn simple processes for natural dyeing
  • Explore ancient methods of extracting colour from botanical sources
  • Get hands-on experience with foraged/grown plants and kitchen scraps
  • Gain insight into Anna's artistic practice and how she uses these techniques
This workshop offers a warm and welcoming environment for beginners. You might feel a sense of wonder as you witness the magic of transforming fabric with natural ingredients. This experience is not just informative but also enriching, offering you a new perspective on the potential of everyday materials.
By the end of the class, you'll leave with more than just knowledge; you'll carry with you a newfound appreciation for the beauty and versatility of natural dyes. You'll take home your own creations, each one a testament to your journey into the world of botanical dyes.
