Q: How does the flexible schedule work?
Students may arrange workshop dates according to their own availability, subject to confirmation. The course can be completed at a pace that suits each individual.
Q: How many arrangements can I complete in one workshop day?
Students may choose to complete 1 to 4 arrangements per workshop day. As the full Introductory Course includes 8 arrangements in total, it can be completed over 2 to 8 workshop days, depending on each student’s schedule and preferred pace.
Q: What happens after I complete all 8 arrangements?
Once all 8 arrangements have been completed, students will be eligible to apply for the Introductory Course completion certificate, officially issued by the Ohara School of Ikebana, Japan. Please note that an additional fee applies for certificate application.
Q: What ages is this class suitable for?
A: Adults & 11+ years. An adult must accompany any attending kids (the adult may observe for free).
Q: What's the cancellation policy?

Course Overview
This 8-class Introductory Course provides a structured introduction to Ohara-ryu Ikebana through Hana-isho, the foundational arrangement of the Ohara School. By studying its two basic forms, students develop a clear understanding of balance, line, and form, creating a strong base for future progression into Moribana and more advanced courses.
Flexible Scheduling
This course is offered on a flexible booking basis, allowing students to arrange workshop dates according to their own availability.
Students may choose to complete 1 to 4 classes per workshop day, and the full 8-class course can be taken at a pace that suits each individual.
Future workshop dates can be arranged directly with the tutor.
Rising Form - 4 Classes
Hana-isho Kihon (Basic Hana-isho). Tateru-katachi (Rising Form)
Inclining Form - 4 Classes
Hana-isho Kihon (Basic Hana-isho). Katamukeru-katachi (Inclining Form)
Presentation & Live Demonstration
A short presentation to Ikebana’s Introductory Course. Watch a step-by-step demonstration showing key techniques and how to build a simple yet expressive Hana-isho.
Hands-on Creation, Feedback & Improvements
Create your own Ikebana work using seasonal flowers. Receive gentle feedback and adjustments to help refine your work and enhance its beauty. Photos of your arrangements and creative journey will be taken professionally.
Certification
Upon completing all 8 classes, students will be eligible to apply for the Introductory Course completion certificate, officially issued by the Ohara School of Ikebana, Japan.
After the first session, subsequent sessions can be arranged with the teacher, at a time that suits you.
This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a date idea, birthday or hen do.
Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 11 years old).
An adult must accompany any attending kids (the adult may observe for free).
