Throughout the year, Hobbycraft host a variety of workshops in stores and online, designed to give everyone the opportunity to master a new craft or refine a long-time favourite. Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

Having never learnt to crochet, I was keen to see what the fuss was all about. I spent a great couple of hours with some lovely ladies and came away with a good basic knowledge of how to crochet. The tutor was extremely patient and it was very obvious from her lovely personality, that she truly enjoys her job.
For me the venue was extremely convenient.
I would definitely recommend this class and think it represents good value for money, especially as the materials are included.
I now know what the fuss is all about

Heather was just lovely, very patient and so talented. I liked being able to learn face to face and able to get your questions answered then and there. The small group we had meant we chatted to each other and encouraged each other. I learnt how to start and how to finish things off properly as well as actually Woking different combinations of stitches. Yes good value for money. The only thing I didn’t like was the orange wool lol but there again it served it’s purpose. I loved the crochet hook so comfortable I will be buying more of those. I will be back for more!

We recently bought a circuit maker 3 and needed help to navigate it. Andy was friendly professional and very knowledgeable. He listened to our needs and supported our ideas, showing the best way to succeed. He was honest I what we needed to buy and items that were not.
We came in with a view to learn how to print and cut and not only did we get a insightful class in how to use the slice, cut and weld items we also got to print and cut it out.
The venue was ok a little bit loud with customers wanting to look at the machines on sale, but seats were comfy.
Class was definitely worth the money and feel confident to start my own project.

We had a great time at the workshop as an activity for the Easter holidays. The teacher was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. There were enough materials for the group and the kids made loads of monsters to bring home with them. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was there could have been seats for adults but I know space was limited around the table.

This was a great activity and easy for the children to do. I think we might have been one of the last groups as there wasn't much of a choice of colours. But plenty of a selection of things to do. I have 2 children so luckily there were 2 of everything. Would've been nice to have some random colours though. The children loved it, and the man was great, very calm when he spoke to the children.

I attended a beginners crochet class on Tuesday at your Poole store.
The class had 5 people which was a perfect number and enabled Heather our tutor to give us all the individual attention we needed at times!
We were all given a ball of wool, a crochet hook and tote bag to take home which was great.
I really enjoyed the class and the company and proudly took home my crochet sample I achieved

Andy was amazing at the Poole branch. Listened to what I wanted to get out of the workshop and expanded from there. They explained everything really clearly and shared their own experience of working with different tools, apps and a machines and which features where right for me. Gave me a clear understanding of their capabilities and confirmed in my mind what to go for. Overall Super helpful and super nice and funny as well. We had a lovely time, the host was wonderful and very patient with us!
The main thing that was very frustrating was that the glue didn't work! The designs relied on pipe cleaners and fluffy pompoms sticking to wet card with PVA glue and this just didn't work. The kids got cross! You really need to rethink the designs considering how to get these to stick!
On a personal note it was a shame that we didn't get to use any glitter! My little girl loves it and it was a shame not to see it involved in a Christmas workshop!
The space in the middle of the shop wasn't particularly spacious and we felt in the way of other customers at times.
Having said that we all had a lovely time and embraced our creativity!

Whilst the lady delivering the course was lovely and did her best. It wasn't a very impressive workshop. She had been handed instructions to create the item. I could have read these myself! You need workshop trainers not just staff from the shop floor. There is a way to deliver workshops and training. As an ex trainer myself I understand this. I have made wreaths myself before and I was incredibly disappointed with it. I will be remaking mine at home. Time was too short if you have novices. I ended up helping my mum make hers. We didn't really know what we were aiming for. A prepared on would help. Overall I wouldn't book another workshop with you.
The staff member did her best it was not her fault. Please train your workshop providers so they know how to deliver and what they are actually trying to make!

Our workshop leader was very patient with my two children. She was friendly and helpful. They decorated pumpkins with decoupage and came home feeling really proud of their work. We had a lovely time at the Halloween house craft session in the new Poole store. The teacher was lovely and there was plenty to decorate the houses with which turned out great. I will definitely book more classes in the future as very good value for money.

Tutor very friendly, plenty of choice of materials.
With only 1 hour for class virtually impossible to finish for the younger ones. The disappointment for kids to come away with unfinished projects could have been made less if they have been given the material to finish at home

Andy was terrific, really personable, knowledgable and patient. I wanted to learn about the heat press, and printed onto a child’s sweatshirt and an apron during the lesson. Although the lesson was only supposed to be an hour long, Andy didn’t rush me and we went over time. Please say thank you to him for me, he is a real asset to the team
