Whether you want to enjoy crafting from the comfort of your own home or you’re looking to meet new people as you get making, these craft workshops offer something for everyone.

Most of our workshops are led by colleagues from Hobbycraft stores across the UK, including craft experts from our Hobbycraft Artisan programme. They use their expertise in specific areas of craft to create workshops that show participants new skills and inspire future projects.

The lesson was great and the teachers had so much patience and advice. Having watched online tutorials which went slow, then slow and then so fast I couldn't follow I thought the only way I'd get this was someone to show me. And they did. And repeating was no issue and no bother so by the end I felt I really could pick up and start something. After more practice of course! Materials provided are a great quality and more than just what was needed on the day. It was quite a relaxing experience for my lunch break.

Really enjoyable class & value for money. We all had individual.bags of products to use and we took them home to continue crocheting.

I was so engrossed in the crocheting the time just flew by. I couldn't stop talking about it when I got home, I told everyone to join a session. I will definitely be booking onto another craft session sometime soon.

The teacher was fantastic, very knowledgeable, she made the session fun & enjoyable, & was understanding when I got in a muddle, nothing was a problem to sort out.

My whole family will be receiving a scaff for Christmas now I know how to crochet

I attended a wonderful Beginner’s Guide to Crochet workshop at Hobbycraft in Norwich today. I have tried to master crochet in the past without success but thanks to the fabulous tutor, Jacqui, I feel I am well on the way to this becoming my new favourite hobby and I can’t wait to do some more! I thought this workshop was good value for money and it was great to be provided with the equipment that I needed and I would definitely recommend it to others.

I really enjoyed the workshop. We were each provided with a wreath and small box of dried decorations, plus we had use of a glue gun each. The friendly teacher demonstrated and gave us ideas. The venue is good but, although we were a small group, I think we ideally needed more space to spread out. My Spring wreath is now cheerfully hanging by the front door!

Molly told us about everything in good detail about the Glowforge pro laser cutter, everything went quick (30 mins) The class one to one was good for its money and I liked the most was making something out of plywood that is then being laser cut

Beginner's crochet workshop: I can't believe how much I learnt in only 90 minutes. The teacher was patient and kind and very skilled and knowledgeable, she made the workshop easy to follow and I left armed with the necessary skills to practice before I get going on my first project, along with the necessary hook, wool and instructions (all included)

I booked my granddaughter on a painting activity, she’s 8 and it was half term, she loved it, the teacher was very encouraging with all the colours and glitter!

Nice, encouraging young lady leading. Basic masking, with nice colours to paint with, but no development of letter. For example, the initial could have been embellished with pens or something else afterwards, but media on offer was limited and activity was over after 30 mins, not the hour that was booked.

The lady (Jackie) teaching us was really kind and helpful! As we hadn’t crochet much before we had a quick lesson on the basics!

The class was for 1.5 hrs, maybe 2 hours would be of benefit.

My daughter really enjoyed the class, she ended up being the only one there but the teacher was very friendly and chatty. My daughter loved the calendar she made. We had plenty of time for the activity and didn't feel rushed. We would definitely go back and do another activity.

The beginners crochet 1-2-1 was really worth it, as the teacher can focus on you. Jackie today's teachers was a pleasure to have the class with, I'd come away with wanting to keep crocheting and would be back for the next session relating to granny squares in the new year. Real value for money, as you also are given 2 x wool, 1 x crochet needle and a wealth of knowledge from the tutor of hobbycraft.

My teacher Paula was fantastic, very patient with me and made sure I could do a task/understood before progressing on to a more difficult task. She was extremely friendly and highly knowledgeable it made my experience so much more enjoyable. It was great that we used the machine that I had and there was plenty of extra materials if needed. I thought it was a nice extra that you are given practice cloths for when you are at home. All in all a very informative and enjoyable lesson!

Teacher was lovely and helpful. Everything was set up with all materials (great variety of things) needed for the Christmas Wreath class I was doing which was situated in a nice quiet part of Hobbycraft. Only little thing I think maybe it might of been better if it was a little longer than the hour as if you are a beginner (which I and the other lady were) you aren’t that quick at handling things but it was very interesting and I look forward to finishing the Wreath over the weekend which I didn’t manage to do at the class.

Hobbycraft in Norwich is the best store to get all your craft making things. The staff are always helpful. I was the only one making the Christmas weath. My teacher was so nice and friendly. All of the craft materials were great quality. My teacher taught me how to nake the weath very easily guiding me through the making of it. Definitely I would do a workshop there again. Gave me some great craft making ideas for the future. Great for your mental health.

Becky the teacher was great, the class was good fun, we really enjoyed it. I would definitely do other classes in Norwich as they have good space to do the class.
My only criticism is the pot that you dip your baubles in really wasn't big enough for the large baubles, it was only really suitable for the small baubles. Very disappointed you didn't get a full kit to use in class and then take away as we did with the Acrylic Pouring Class. But all in all good fun.

What a wonderful workshop. I have never done crochet before, hence why booking this class, and I am so pleased I did. The teacher (sorry I've forgotten her name) was brilliantshe was patient and really friendly, which made it a great experience. She was quick to come and help if we got stuck and showed each step slowly.
Regarding the 'goodie bag' provided: I wasn't expecting that so I was very surprised to see them on the table when we arrived, I thought maybe we had to purchase them so when we were told No they were ours to take and keep we were all very excited. In the bag was everything we needed: hook, 2x yarn & instructions, all in a reusable Hobbycraft bag.
I will definitely be booking another course/workshop in the future.

I throughly enjoyed the class today. I have never done crocheting before and didn’t know what to expect, but I can confidently say that I can now crochet and really enjoy it. The teacher was so lovely and really helpful. She didn’t rush any of us and was always there to lend a hand even if she had to show us the same move a million times! It was really good value for money and I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to dabble in the world of crochet. The only negative I would say is that the time went far too quickly.

This was really fun and I liked adding the eyes at the end. My little sister could do it (with a learning disability) as was straightforward but lots of messy fun. The lady gave us good tips for a great looking pumpkin. We could look round the shop while it dried. Thank you! (10 and 6 year olds)

I had a really fantastic lesson with Lucinda.
I needed to know the very basics, how to set up and use my machine. I've not been near a sewing machine for a long time. She really put me at ease, demonstrated and explained really clearly what I needed to do before letting me try for myself.
Explained how the machine works, what the functions are. What to do when the tension is quite right etc. It was really comprehensive.
I had a go at stitching, back stitch and she explained/demonstrated how to pivot.
I had no questions at the end because she had covered everything.
Now all I have to do is practice at home and get sewing!

This was my second one-off class with HobbyCraft and once again it was worth every penny! A small class where we were taught how to crochet a granny square. The teacher was friendly, very helpful and patient with us newbies. Wool and crochet hook were supplied so we could go home & keep practicing. Lots of advice was given & yes I did buy wools in my colour choice to get started on a granny square filled blanket! I would definitely recommend these sessions.

Amazing course I tried learning crochet at home and through friends but still struggled, I decided to come here and the teachers made it so easy to understand! They were absolutely lovely too. You get given a pack with 2 balls of yarn in so you have a choice of colour and lots to take home after for practise, a needle, and the instructions of what they teach you printed out in case you need to refresh your memory once you're back at home. It's been three days since my course and I managed to crochet a crab last night by learning more at home on top of what they teach us! Honestly it's very good value for money, and a great starting step, they're very helpful and it's a lovely environment, I highly recommend it.

I learnt 3 different ways to ‘stitch’, it was not rushed although the time flew by, & I will continue practicing at home with the materials supplied (inc. helpful printed instructions). I would definitely recommend this one-off session to get you on the road to crocheting!

The children enjoyed the fun of making bumble bees and dragonflies or butterflies. The clay was easy to mould but sometimes not so easy to stick together. The materials and class were good value . The 4-yr old found it a little tricky, but still made something he was pleased with.

The teacher for this workshop was very good, gave very clear instructions and was patient with the children. My two grandchildren really enjoyed the session and came home with two beautiful rainbows. They are really looking forward to their next Halloween session in October.

Lucinda was a great teacher for the class and learning how to use the sewing machine I have just purchased. Had a couple of hiccups with the machine but after changing to another one was easy to use and have learnt several new skills already. Shall definitely speak to her again if have any more problems or need help with machine. Rebecca.

It was a very enjoyable session. The teachers (Karen and Louise) were both patient and helpful. The class was of an appropriate size for them to monitor everyone and provide individual support as appropriate.
The materials provided were of a good quality and carefully chosen to aid the beginner. The 3 of us are all inspired to continue with crochet.

My 2 grandchildren took the class led by Karen.
Karen was lovely, she was kind and patient and the children really liked her.
The children thoroughly loved and enjoyed their Canvas Painting class, which was brilliant value for money. I am currently looking for more classes for the children AND for myself.
The class was held upstairs in Norwich Hobby Craft, the atmosphere was relaxed and felt very safe.
Thank you 'Miss Karen', as the children called her when excitedly reporting to their mummy later on.

Not alot was really said that I didn't know already from looking on line.
The lady Molly, was very nice.
She wasn't told I was here for heat press so wasn't geared up for it. I wanted to see the difference in the easy press 2 and 3 because I was hoping to buy one today straight after the session but she said they only use the easy press 2 so couldn't demo the 3. Because of this a sale with yourselves has been lost as I now need to do more of my own research.

Had an appointment at the Norwich Branch,had see meet a lovely young girl called mollie ,who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the machine,very impressed with the machine ,so we purchased the machine, only to find out that it would'nt fit in the car so had a chat with the store manager and he rang customer services that were'nt much help ,so he rang his boss which he did'nt have to do and his boss said that he could deliver it tomorrow which is fanstastic

Karen was such a lovely teacher. She was patient and very hands on, making sure that we were grasping the hang of our double and triple stitches. She also was happy to answer my queries about other types of stitches not involved in the workshop and recommended books, which I really appreciate! I think the workshop was great value for money due to instruction but also the great materials we were provided with! My teacher was so kind and friendly, I can't remember her name but I'd like to say a big thank you! I went home and did some more troubleshooting and from her guidance and encouragement I managed to get my sewing machine working and have been practicing different stitches. Paula was amazing to someone who doesn't know anything about using a sewing machine. She was very patient and informative. I learned a lot today about bobbins, tension, and stitch length. I also learned about the different stitches that I can use from the sewing machine that we used which I am planning to purchase in couple of days. The cost for one to one teaching was affordable and just right in the pocket. The learning area was fine, no issue with me and I was shown how to start using the sewing machine. I only need to practise to be confident and competent in using a sewing machine. More power to Paula, Classbento and Hobbycraft.

This was the first Hobbycraft course I have tried and honestly recommend it. The venue was convenient and the workshop light and airy. Our teacher was friendly and gave lots of tips and encouragement on how to use the medium from basic mixing and application to more advanced styles exhibited around the store. While
suggesting alternative and extra materials to achieve these different effects and so add to the generous kit they gave us. Hopefully another class to follow!

The teacher , Karen, was very friendly and encouraging . She was knowledgeable and very good at demonstrating the techniques and stitches. We sat at a table tucked away in the corner so it was nice and quiet. The selection of wool was good and I liked the colour choices. We learnt basic stitches which I’m sure I’ll be able to build upon. It was good value for money and a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Thoroughly recommend it. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another workshop. Thanks Karen for making it fun !

This was a great taster course. I had done some pouring before but had lost my confidence and this was a great way to kick start again. The kit is fab and you have plenty left over to play with at home! I found the instruction easy to understand. The tables were upstairs, away from the main shop traffic, so we weren't disturbed. Would love to see a longer course, maybe 2 hours, so we can practice some different techniques! A great course and really enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this introduction to watercolour painting. The tutor Rachel, was very up beat, friendly and supportive and gave lots of useful tips e.g. wet on wet blending and using tissue paper to alter the effect. I was delighted with the box of resources, which contained everything I needed to start painting either on large or small scale, including paints, paper and brushes. Overall, it was a lovely, relaxing session and Rachel has inspired me to “have a go”. Excellent!

I learn a lot in just an hour from Paula, she is very good in showing step by step from how to use the machine: setting the length and the strength of the stitch, choosing the patterns from the machine, making patterns, making proper edging, sewing a zipper, making button hole, and she showed me two different cushion designs as an idea to start my project. At the end of class she gave me lines to practice with the machine, before I start my project. It is absolutely a nice class to join.

This workshop was so much fun! We really enjoyed it. Mollie, our teacher, was so lovely and encouraging. I love that we got to practise brush lettering lots and with such lovely pens! I personally had never done brush lettering before and now I think it might be a new hobby! I'm so excited to keep practising! 100% recommend this workshop!

Teacher was great however the course title was misleading. We brought ‘tree topper’ workshop and everyone had to do Santa’s. We were hoping to do angel or something similar. The course title wasn’t specific, it was fine and still enjoyable but maybe amend.

Our Teacher was Anne and she made me feel welcome right from the start. I was the only person there for a little while until two latecomers joined us.
The boxes were well thought out and the contents was more than enough to get the creativity working. Extra trimmings were brought out at a later stage which added a little sparkle too. The picture here shows more cinnamon sticks than was included and we didnt get any fruit slices. I learnt how to put together a wreath to my own liking and learnt how to work with hessian for the first time. The time allocated was more than enough for three participants, but with a bigger group, it may have been a struggle to get everyone to the same point in time.

The turor was excellent very helpful and supportive. Plenty of materials. Excellent value for money. Would recommend to anyone thinking of doing this. Came away feeling I had had proper 'me' time and a wreath that will be a new Christmas ornament. Will book myself onto future workshops.

The course was fantastic! The class size was good, small enough that the teacher could be very attentive. The equipment was ideal, the thread and needle were both nice and chunky, making the stitches and any mistake easy to spot and fix. The teacher was also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely do another course again here.

The teacher Becky was very good, she really enjoyed explaining how to do different techniques. As I was a bit more experienced we had fun trying different techniques and using different materials. It would be good if more advanced classes were available, as some some people will have more experience than others. . The area wasn’t very good as we kept being interrupted by customer’s which wasn’t very helpful for both student and tutor.

Jacqui was great. Very clear and easy to follow instructions. She had great patience with a complete beginner and was happy to keep going back to the beginning to starting again. Learnt a variety of stitches and gained plenty of knowledge to be able to go and create a project independently. She made it a very enjoyable experience, even for a left hander learning right handed! Would definitely book onto another more advanced course.

I had a really enjoyable hour in Hobbycraft Norwich making a Halloween wreath which is as good as any I have seen for sale on Etsy. I wasn’t familiar with what to do so appreciated the help of the teacher and was very impressed that I could take home my wreath plus extras such as my own glue gun.

Jax the teacher was amazing

I was really looking forward to my advent calendar workshop and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Rachel was my teacher and we had a really lovely chat about hobbycraft, different workshops, trends and she was really helpful with advice and showing me what to do.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and was left inspired to do more after my 2 hours with Rachel. I would highly recommend this as it was good value for money and whilst the time went quickly, I feel I have learned what I need to complete my advent calendar so thx and I look forward to future workshops!

Really enjoyed my experience! Jacqui was a very knowledgeable, patient & friendly. I didn’t feel under pressure at all. Materials provided were of high quality and the written instructions were clear and straightforward. I felt it was great value for money especially as you have the time of the instructor and materials are included. I learnt how to do a chain, double and treble stitch. But the winner for me was being taught how to do granny squares. I have tried this at home and have failed each time. So I came away with a real sense of achievement. Thanks Jacqui

- Teacher only had a iPad which made it difficult for me to see what was being done.

- No hands on opportunity so had to write copious notes.

- Not ideal location as was disturbed by the general public wanting to know where things were on the shop floor three times.

- No sign on the desk to say a class as in progress.

- Added notes to my booking but not sure these had been seen and no opportunity to add photos of the projects I wanted you do.

I had planned to make multiple bookings but will probably look further an online class now.

As trainer myself before I retired I think you need to consider your offering as not ideal.

Mollie was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the subject. She taught me well and I made quite a bit of progress. Unfortunately I just think there isn’t enough time to do enough practice. I have done some other workshops with Hobbycraft and think it’s the same, even an extra half hour could really help. Otherwise you only half start something and it’s harder to make a hobby of it yourself. The kit you get is really lovely although for someone like me more guided practice sheets would be ideal.

Excellent! Teacher Jacqui was friendly, helpful, answered my questions, demonstrated use of the machine. Venue good, free parking 2.5hrs. Lift available if needed as session upstairs. Materials, Jacqui provided a cloth practice square so I could use the machine & try different stitches
Value for money, yes!
Learnt how to use a modern machine as had only used an old Singer, basic 1 stitch machine before. All staff in shop very helpful & knowledgeable, meet & greet, teacher & till staff. Really impressed so joined mailing list & got Hobbycraft card

Sadly for the lady running the session, the kits used were not complete or suitable fir children as they required sewing. The glue provided didn’t stick anything to the socks. Both my boys were extremely disappointed as they’ve been looking forward to this session since it was booked.

Great fun!
You get all the materials you need in a kit. Lots of different paint colours to try! Metallics looked great on the canvas.
Teacher was lovey. Very supportive & encouraging.
Great introduction to paint pouring.
Wish the class was longer than an hour. Would’ve liked to have done more & stayed longer.

The teacher was so lovely and helpful. But we only got through a few of the stitches. We had to teach ourselves how to finish it once we got home. I would suggest that the session needs to be longer, even by just 30 minutes. At least we were allowed to take pictures of the instructions of each stitch. It was lovely to be shown where in the shop we can find the embroidery things to buy.

Emilie was great! Very friendly and made it really enjoyable. It was handy to have all the stitches in one design so I can refer back to it whenever I need a reminder. Emilie even wrote down all the stitches so I had them to YouTube should I ever forget. There was more than enough materials provided to do this workshop several times over!

Amazing hour run by Becky who was fantastic. Didn’t know what to expect except it would be messy, and it was! Such fun though, only wish the class was longer. Maybe extra 1/2 hour would have been beneficial to tutor and pupils. The box of materials provided were outstanding. Far more than I expected which made it great value. The cross stitch class at Norwich was great. The teacher was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything needed was provided and as shown on the website. Overall a very pleasant way to spent 90 minutes and good value for money.

Paula was an excellent teacher, only good things to say about her, however I think the kit given with the expectation of knitting three different cactus in 90mins on a beginners course was very ambitious. It was only myself and Paula at the class and after nearly an hour I had achieved casting on and 4 rows of one cactus. Paula then changed to showing me how to cast off and also how to do a pearl stitch so when I went home I had to knowledge to complete the three cactus. If we had continued on the Hobbycraft itinerary I would have got home with half a cactus on my needles with no way of knowing how to finish it or complete the other two.
It would be better to knit a square in class to use as a coaster or similar that way in the 90 mins you can be show the four basics- casting on and off and 2 stitches so you have the knowledge to completely knit other projects at home. If there had been 4 other people on the course I would have achieved even less on the hobbycraft itinerary.
Paula was very clear with her instructions, very kind and welcoming. Just a re think on the itinerary needed

I bought this workshop experience for my mothers birthday, so we did the workshop together, and she loved every single second! all of the components were provided, and there was a wonderful selection of pieces to use! for all the pieces, the price was amazing! Our teacher was a lady called Anne. She was absolutely lovely, so helpful and knew all about the subject. The session was great fun. We were given loads of materials to use and to take home as well. When I booked the session, I thought it was a bit pricey, but when I saw what we got I thought it was good value for money. I would definitely book one of the craft sessions again.

Our instructor Molly was very nice- she explained and demonstrated everything very well and was very friendly and made us feel at ease.

The course was very good value for money and there was a very generous supply of items in the pack.

We decided to just practise the techniques during the course and finish the product at home later once we felt more confident.

The location was fine, large spacious table at the back of the store so not many customers walking past.

I highly recommend the course and will look out for other ones that Hobbycraft run.

Millie, our teacher, for brush writing was very clear in her explanations and very pleasant and encouraging. Our group of four learners plus teacher were happy and communicative. It was a great experience. The time went quickly. I think we all felt the font used was a little strange to us but what we learnt was a good foundation for further work. I attended the course last Saturday. The artisan Rachel was nice and chatty. We got a box with several items. Rachel gave us lots of ideas on what to make with the clay and what tools and techniques to use. I’ve since made a few Xmas items and would like to make more in the future.
I like making things that don’t require too much time. Apart from drying this craft if quick and you can make tons of different things (get ideas from YouTube). I’d definitely recommend this course.

My daughter and myself really enjoyed this class. Molly was very friendly and gave us lots of ideas.
The class was upstairs at the back of the shop which was fine, but there were still people asking for Mollys help. Maybe a sign stating a craft workshop is in progress might stop this.
Maybe a bit longer time wise would be good too as the one hour thirty minutes seemed to go very quickly time you sat down opened your boxes etc.
All in all it was very good.

Basic class. Not a lot of guidance from tutor, just shown pictures. Not shown how to use glue gun. Materials in kit were minimal but made better by tutor adding extra decoration form the store shelf .

The Autumn Wreath activity was lovely, calming atmosphere and really enjoyed creating the wreath. The teacher was kind & helpful and very knowledgeable. However I’m not sure it was worth £35! It was quite expensive with sadly not many materials to work with… for the items in our box, the workshop should’ve been around £20. A little cheaper with a few extra materials would’ve given this top marks!

Perhaps this session was not quite long enough for new starters though Becky was very helpful. i had a 1-1 Cricut Explore Air 2 session booked and Henry who took this session was patient and took time to find out what I wanted from the session and then delivered it. I would highly recommend Hobbycraft’s 1-1 sessions I had watched you tube videos but found this a much better way of learning what the Cricut machine could do. So a big thank you Henry (Norwich store) for all the information today I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The venue was okay but could have been improved if it was away from other customers who were walking around our table.
Paula the teacher was amazing. She had already researched the machine I have and had one ready to use complete with full instruction manual.
Paula had such a vast amount of knowledge and experience about sewing and she was very patient and explained things very well.
The materials provided were great.
My sewing knowledge is basic and I learnt how to sew a blind hem, how to shorten trousers, the correct stitches to use to prevent fabric fraying and how to sew a button hole. Paula also gave me numerous tips throughout the lesson.
The lesson was excellent value for money and I would definitely recommend these lessons. So much easier to learn face-to-face than through a computer screen.
