Hiromi Moffat

I was born in Yamaguchi, Japan, and trained in traditional Japanese music on the koto and shamisen at my local education institute. I am an accredited master of The Nagauta Kinekatsu Group (Traditional Japanese Performing Arts). After marrying my Scottish husband, I moved to Scotland where I now live in the Central Belt with my husband and three children. In Scotland, I have performed at various venues and collaborated on Japanese Tea Ceremony events. I am also active in many organisations relating to Japanese culture and cultural exchange. I offer a selection of informal workshops and performances to share the joy of Japanese culture. These workshops are available for small groups or one-to-one lessons in koto and shamisen.
