Highland Cow Ceramic Workshop

Hand-build your very own Highland cow in this fun, hands-on pottery class. You'll start by shaping a quirky little creature from stoneware clay – complete with characterful curvy horns, a sweet wagging tail, stumpy legs, and the most endearing eyelashes. Then comes the joy of decorating: add underglazes in warm tones, layer on flowers, perch a jaunty bird on its head, scatter hearts across its coat, or crown it with blooms. There's no single way to do it – your imagination is your only guide, and every cow will be wonderfully one-of-a-kind.You don't need any experience to enjoy this class. Your teacher will guide you through every step, from building the basic form to adding those final decorative touches, so you'll feel supported and confident the whole way through. If you're more experienced with hand-building, you'll have plenty of scope to get creative and push your skills further.Once the workshop ends, your cow will dry slowly before being bisque fired and then glaze fired – you'll be able to collect your finished piece around three weeks later. It's worth the wait: these little sculptures make truly special keepsakes, each one bursting with personality and character.Please note: this is a group class where you'll be sharing the session with a small, friendly group of around 10 to 12 fellow students.
