I am a natural florist, I am committed to creating beautiful, sustainable designs. I grow, forage (with permission) and source locally grown materials, ensuring that everything I use is sustainably grown and harvested.
Creativity has always been part of who I am. I qualified in Commercial floristry in the 1990s before carbon footprints were an ‘thing’ and in 2021, I refreshed my floristry training and updated my skills with everything that has evolved since 1995. While designs have moved on and customer trends shifted, sadly many commercial floristry practices still rely heavily on non sustainable materials. Hedgerows & Herbs was born from a desire to do things differently - to celebrate natural beauty while working in harmony with the environment and inspiring people to create something rather than simply buying it.
I am passionate about working with natural, seasonal materials and I’m proud to be a member of the Sustainable Floristry Network as well as the Surfers against Sewage Plastic Free Community.
My seasonal workshops aren’t just about making something beautiful, they’re about slowing down, connecting with nature and learning new skills.
Everything we create together is designed with accessibility in mind - the skills and techniques you learn can be taken away and reused in true eco style, giving you the confidence to keep creating again and again.
Teaching (skill sharing) is something I love because I get to see people surprise themselves. Many arrive saying ‘they’re not creative’ but leave with a design they are proud of and a smile on their face!
Between 1995 and 2021, I worked in retail and hospitality but never lost my passion for all things floral. I hold formal qualifications in floristry, refreshed in recent years and bring with me vast experience in hospitality and customer care. I’m now in my third year of teaching workshops and in the past year alone, more than 150 eco, plastic free, compostable wreaths adorned doors throughout my local community.
I hope you will join me in 2025 for an eco-conscious, calm and creative wreath making session - a space designed to nurture both wellbeing and the planet.
