What you'll do
If you're looking for a fun, crafty get-together for a few friends and family to make your very own beautifully designed wedding favours as keepsake gifts for guests come along to this fun workshop
You’ll each be making up to 20 individually designed pottery decorations while sipping something lovely and enjoying some nibbles.
Hosted by experienced potter Louise, you and your fellow guests will learn how to use clay to make a series of gorgeous glazed keepsake pottery decorations that are sure to amaze and delight your wedding guests.
Before the session you can discuss designs with Louise, who can guide you on the purchase of a suitable stamp with your own chosen words so it is ready to decorate your pieces on the day.
You'll enjoy the soothing practice of moulding and shaping the clay before decorating it to your taste. Don't worry if this is your first time trying any kind of clay craft, as you'll have all the help and advice you need from your friendly teacher.
You'll leave the class full of wedding excitement, with some nifty new crafting skills under your belt and the most perfect wedding favours ticked off your list, ready to enjoy the build up to your special day.
Please note:
- Your pieces will be dried and fired ready for you to collect in approximately two weeks' time, or can be posted by arrangement at cost.
- Your teacher is also mobile within one hour of Northampton. This class can come to you in places such as Milton Keynes, Birmingham, Oxford, Coventry and Leicester.

- All the materials needed to create 20 glazed wedding decorations per person- to be collected or received after firing, ready to add your own ribbon.
- A chance to talk ahead of the session to help inform purchase of a suitable bespoke stamp to decorate the pieces you will make, this is also the chance to agree any colour theme.

You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic fizz to drink during the session. Glasses are provided.

Hello, I’m Louise
I adore leading pottery experiences, passing on pottery skills to other people. Clay is infectious!
I did a degree in Ceramics at Loughborough in the late 1980s and then had community arts roles and a pottery business in my 20's and 30's. After a career in children's services and growing my family I'm now full time in the pottery.
My dad, Rodney, was a brilliant bird artist, and both he and my mum found ways to encourage my artistic nature. They supported me in everything I did. Aged 13, I had a day with a local potter and was hooked on the clay.
When I started out in Ceramics in the 1990's the internet was just an idea, but with the help of my adult children I've grown my online presence and enjoy customer interactions both in person and over social media.
I also head out to local in person markets, my brilliant Mum helps with these.
I have a beautiful workshop which is bright and spacious, so the perfect commute down the garden path and the big pine table which is the hub of activity great for gathering with others who want to learn the craft or chatting to friends and neighbours as I make.
