Glass Paperweight Workshop

Make a beautiful paperweight with the colours of your choice.

30 mins Class size 1 to 5 guests

£90 (£90 for Person) (PayPal Pay in 3 available)

Join this glassblowing workshop in London and discover the magic of working with molten glass to create your very own unique paperweight. This hands-on session is a wonderful way to switch off from the daily grind and get back into a creative flow with the help of a seasoned glassmaker.
You'll start the experience by taking molten glass from the furnace, where you'll have the chance to add vibrant colour chips of your choice. Once these have melted into the glass, you'll take a seat at the bench to begin the tactile process of shaping and moulding your design. Your teacher will be there every step of the way to offer support, finishing your piece by expertly encasing it in a layer of clear glass.
It's a low-pressure environment where you can focus on the feel of the material and the joy of making something one-of-a-kind. By the end of the session, you'll have gained a fascinating insight into this ancient craft and created a beautiful keepsake that will brighten up any desk or shelf.
Please note: Your paperweight will need to stay in the kiln for annealing overnight to ensure it cools safely. You can return to collect your finished piece at a later date, or it can be posted to you for a small additional charge.
What you'll get
  • Use of all materials and tools, an unforgettable experience in glass making.
  • Also a beautiful keepsake to remember your time with us.

I (Steven Baker) have been in the world of glass making for many years, trained at Dartington Glass in 1977 and worked in many factories all over the country. I went on to own a Bristol blue glass factory in Bedminster, Bristol with my partner Angie. After many years and pressures of owning a very busy factory we decided to sell up and get back to enjoying the art all over again with a small glass blowing studio, we are in the heart of chew valley where we now specialise in many one off gifts and teaching the wonderful art of glass blowing to students.
