Glass Fusing Flowers and Under Sea Taster Class / Workshop

Immerse yourself in the world of fused glass art at this 2-hour taster workshop.

2 hours Location Burton upon Trent Class size 1 to 4 guests   £60 - £80 (£80 per guest when you book for 1 guest, £64/guest for 2 guests, £60/guest for 3+ guests)

In this creative workshop, you'll learn how to design and create two beautiful fused glass pieces inspired by floral garden and underwater themes. You'll master decorative techniques using pre-cut glass materials, designing your choice of free-standing waves, hanging suncatchers, elegant tealight holders, or decorative lanterns to take home once they've been professionally kiln-fired.
Feeling uncertain about working with glass? This activity is structured to make the process accessible for complete beginners. All materials are pre-cut, allowing you to focus entirely on the creative aspects without worrying about the technical cutting process.
During this 2-hour session, you'll receive step-by-step instruction with demonstrations of each technique before you try it yourself. The workshop provides a relaxed environment with light refreshments available as you explore colour combinations and decorative elements to bring your designs to life. While children are welcome to participate, do note that working with glass involves sharp edges and requires careful handling to avoid cuts.
By the end of this how-to workshop, you'll discover the satisfaction of creating with this fascinating medium. Your completed pieces will be carefully fired in professional kilns and sent to you once cooled – providing lasting mementos of your creative experience that can be displayed and enjoyed for years to come.

Ruth and Andy Harrison are full time self-taught glass artists based in Burton-On-Trent.
Lampworking and fusing began as a hobby, quickly became an addiction followed shortly after by us selling our business and creating our own studio to work with glass full time.
Glass is an obsession that satisfies us artistically as well as suiting our engineering backgrounds, melting various glass colours and cooling them to room temperature while instilling strength and durability requires a scientific approach as well as an artistic one. We are constantly inspired by the never ending palette of colour available to us and seeking the unexpected reactions that occur between them.
We now teach to pass on our addiction to others!
