What you'll do
Craving the beautiful botanical tastes of your favourite gin? Or maybe you want to discover a new spirit to help your summer cocktails reign supreme? Check out this gin experience for an evening full of fun - and drinks!
You'll be welcomed to the workshop with a G and T and an introduction from your friendly local teacher, who'll provide an overview of the history of the spirit, from its conception to its current renaissance. After absorbing some new knowledge, you'll get the chance to try three popular gin styles and share your thoughts with the group.
Then it’s time to blend your own unique 350ml bottle of gin. Choosing from over 30 botanicals, you’ll infuse your gin with a whole host of fruity flavours and follow the expert guidance of your host. After labelling your bottle, it's down to the tasting room where you'll be served a perfect G and T using your newly created DIY drink.
You'll head home feeling relaxed, with a bottle of handcrafted gin and a clear head, ready to continue building on your spirit making skills.

Your teacher
My name is Doreen and, together with Tina and Warren, I run Barbican Botanics, a beautiful gin room on the historic and beautiful Barbican in Plymouth. Our gin business started back in 2016, with the launch of 'little gin box', our gin subscription company. Barbican Botanics Gin followed in 2017 and the Gin Room followed in 2018. In 2019 we launched Barbican Botanics Spiced Rum and 'Little Rum Box'.
During all of our growth, we've tried to stay true to our original aims, to support the UK independent spirits industry and spotlight the finest independent UK distillers and brewers with particular emphasis on the South West. We have a real passion for sharing the unique recipes and flavours of fantastic gins in our workshops and look forward to welcoming you in the future!
