What you'll do
If you're keen to bring new life to a beloved old piece of furniture or upcycle a vintage find into something special, this furniture painting class is for you!
Join your tutors for this fun class, where you will learn some essential painting skills by practising on pieces of wood, which you'll take home with you at the end of the day — they'll make a lovely piece of wall art in their own right!
During the class, you'll learn:
- How to prepare your furniture for painting
- What types of paint you can use
- How to use different brush strokes to create various effects in your painting
- How to finish your furniture to make the paint job long lasting - using lacquer or wax
- What to do if things don't go to plan! (They never do, there's always a curve ball!)
You'll also be given a booklet with top tips to take home, and you are encouraged to take notes in this throughout the day. This lesson is very relaxed and you'll learn at your own pace, meaning you don't need to rush.
You'll leave filled to the brim with new skills, along with your wooden sampler to take home with you.
Knowledge required
This is a beginners class, you do not need any prior experience, although if you do have some, you are still very welcome to attend and build on your skills!
What you'll get
All materials and equipment to learn a variety of furniture painting techniques and a wooden sample to take home with you.
