Furniture Painting Refresher Workshop

I began Marmalade House Design began 15 years ago with the aim to bring together a style and interiors house that would offer a range of services and home-related products. With a background in design in publishing and a life-long love of interiors, a pivotal moment was working with Annie Sloan, the founder of Chalk Paint, and realising that her paint and my style were happy bed-fellows. The interior design side of the business quickly grew alongside French and Gustavian Furniture painting, and then we started to share our knowledge with popular furniture painting and interior design courses. I am very proud that 15 years on from beginning at my kitchen table, we have now trained over 2, 000 people, have a very wide-ranging portfolio of projects and clients across the UK and Europe and have won two awards for our creative business, and been nominated for many more. We also work in the field of film and TV styling with location shoots at our studios which is always a lot of fun!Our bespoke courses are all run from our farmhouse studios in Bath, and we offer spaces to a maximum of 7 at a time to ensure a fun, but intimate experience where everyone is valued. The days are hands-on and immersive and we are also proud of our hearty home-made lunches which are a welcome break in the middle of a busy day. Running our courses are the most favourite part of our business, and we will be developing them in 2026 so watch this space!We have run corporate days, and company bonding days - one for a very famous cast of a well-known TV show. We have also taken our courses to other training establishments and will be developing a new online element to them over the coming year.We have been widely featured in the Press, including Country Living Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Homes and Interiors, Closer Magazine and many others. We have also been featured on Gok Wan's, Fill Your House For Free series for Channel 4. We have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience over the years, and constantly update our courses and training to keep them both cutting-edge technically and current. We are very excited for all that is ahead for Marmalade House Design in the future.
