Join this Indian block printing workshop in Cambridge and enjoy a slow, grounding exploration of pattern and rhythm. Rooted in an ancient textile tradition, this experience invites you to work with repetition and imperfection, allowing each design to unfold naturally with every press.
In a calm and welcoming space, you'll learn the basics of hand block printing using carved wooden blocks and fabric inks. You'll be guided gently through the process, which encourages you to trust your pace, embrace small variations, and enjoy the meditative quality of printing by hand.
During your session, you'll work on several projects:
  • Create a series of prints – Experiment with patterns on stationery papers and test fabrics.
  • Develop final designs – Apply your new skills to create beautiful patterns on your final fabric item.
  • Explore colour and layout – Play with different combinations in a supportive, low-pressure setting.
There's no rush here – just time to connect with a centuries-old craft. You'll finish the day with your hand-printed experiments, your finished bespoke items, and a renewed sense of wonder for slow making and intentional design.

I am a textile artist and maker with a love for traditional craft and slow, considered design. I create hand-drawn illustrations and design and make woodblock-printed childrenswear, which I sell through my online shop. My work is strongly influenced by Indian block printing, natural forms, and the beauty of handmade processes.
I run Indian Block Printing workshops that offer a thoughtful introduction to this centuries-old technique. My workshops are relaxed, well-structured, and suitable for beginners, providing a welcoming space to learn, experiment, and create by hand. I focus on sharing both the practical skills and creating a environment which encourages participants to slow down and enjoy the tactile nature of printmaking.
