Fluid Art Canvas Painting Class

Discover how to decorate a canvas using fluid painting techniques in Broadstone

2 hours 1 to 15 guests     £30
On the search for hands-on and fun Dorset activities? Join Paint & Pop in their cosy studio for this exciting pour painting class and learn how to create a canvas masterpiece!
Also known as acrylic pouring, fluid painting is a type of abstract art that involves pouring layers of thin, liquid acrylic paint onto a canvas. Because of that fluid consistency, the paint moves and spreads freely, creating interesting and organic shapes.
While this type of artwork is abstract and — to an extent — unplanned, there are several fluid painting techniques you can use to achieve different effects. For example, straight pouring involves pouring lines or puddles of each colour onto your canvas and then tilting the canvas to manipulate the paint. With the dirty pour technique, on the other hand, you add all of your paint colours to one
cup, and then pour the entire contents of the cup onto your canvas. We'll take you through these techniques on the day so you can decide which one suits your style best.
No matter which approach you choose to apply fluid acrylic paint, you will be consistently surprised by the designs you can create. Once you have finished you'll leave your artwork in our studio to dry for around 72 hours and will receive a call or text when it's ready to be collected.

Paint & Pop was born after our own experience in Sydney where we were visiting our son and his partner. They invited us to a bear painting afternoon and a Picasso-style paint and sip experience. Although we weren’t sure what either of that meant or if we were even creative enough, we soon realised it didn’t matter. Skill and talent weren’t important. It was all about creating something with those you love, spending quality time together doing something you wouldn’t ordinarily do and getting to take that experience away with you in the form of a tangible memory.
On our return home we were looking for somewhere to share this experience with our younger son, but we couldn’t find anywhere, so here we have Paint & Pop; a studio here in Broadstone, Dorset. We sincerely hope we can deliver the fun, the laughter, and the memories for you to hold on to like we did.
