Your teacher
ELL-SQUARED is a Liverpool-based craft and textile duo who graduated from university with a degree in fine art and a dream. For more than three years, we have been honing our rug-tufting skills and finding to new ways to transform wool into pieces of art. It was largely up to us to teach others how to do rug tufting because it became so popular, but now we just can’t stop! We’ve realised that teaching and spreading this incredibly wonderful method to others is our calling. We love to share our knowledge and the process of rug-making with others, whether in large groups or one-on-one, having taught sessions in universities and at events, we feel the need to share our knowledge outside of a university environment. We want to allow people to explore the benefits of slow craft and as a form of mindfulness -- but also to create a space for people to get creative in a non-serious environment! We've been teaching rug making for over a year now, with the goal of providing a space for students to learn this highly therapeutic skill and demonstrating that it's not as intimidating as it appears.
