FAQ

I have mobility issues with my hand - can I still join the class?
Our classes involve a good amount of hands‑on piping, which means you’ll be holding and squeezing a piping bag firmly and repeatedly throughout the session. Most people find this absolutely fine, but it can be challenging if you experience: - Reduced grip strength - Wrist or finger mobility issues - Arthritis or joint pain - Difficulty maintaining pressure in a piping bag over time We never want anyone to feel uncomfortable or struggle through the class, so if you know this might affect you, please reach out before booking. We can chat through what the session involves, design adaptations that can be made and whether it will be enjoyable and manageable for you. Our aim is always to set you up for success and make sure the class feels fun, achievable, and supportive.

After running a successful celebration cake business for several years, I learned the art of buttercream piping during lockdown and Becca's Bouqcakes was born in 2020. For me, creating beautiful floral cakes from premium ingredients and seeing the joy the bring to people's day makes me super happy. Piping is really therapeutic and I built up an Instagram following as I showed my skills of using reels.
I originally qualified as a teacher, but fell into the corporate world not long after graduation and so my teaching skills went (mostly) unused for a number of years - aside from a stint as a software trainer. After being asked repeatedly to teach buttercream flowers, I took the plunge and ran some successful beginners classes three years ago.
Of course, life happens and a few personal challenges (including the sudden loss of my mum, whose cupcake recipe I use for all my cakes!) I hung up my teaching apron for a few years but now I'm back in my happy place, piping and teaching alongside my day job as an IT Resourcing and Knowledge Lead.
