I was first introduced to lino printing over 10 years ago on a print making course and since then have become a keen lino printer, making prints in my own time. It's really rewarding putting something down on paper and seeing it transformed into a print!
I am a trained secondary school teacher, and I taught art and textiles part time for two years at a middle school in Somerset. Lino printing was the unit of work that I enjoyed most, and my students created some fantastic prints inspired by insects. My favourite lino prints that I have made are those that I have done for my wedding invitation and for my sons room.
I love physically carving the lino and how that gradually creates your design. It is a great craft for beginners and you don't have to be amazing at art - the simplest designs are often the most effective!
