Add a handmade touch to your Christmas this year by making some beautiful cyanotype cards and art prints with Katherine, an experienced printer.
The cyanotype process is one of the earliest photographic processes and produces a beautiful wintery blue print. Using an extensive collection of dried flowers and foliage, you'll create some delicate prints of wreaths and festive scenes to send, gift or decorate your home.⁣
This type of printing is unique, in that it is a form of photography that does not require a camera or a darkroom, meaning you can replicate what you have learned in the course at home.
With full support from your teacher, you'll start with the basics of how to mix the chemicals, coat your paper and, once it's dry, how to expose your images using both daylight and UV lights. You'll have plenty of time to experiment and explore different ways to create images, including making photograms with plants and flowers, using photographic negatives as well as drawing and mark making onto acetate.
You'll leave this beginner-friendly printing class with your own collection of cards and art prints, ready to send to your friends and family or give as one-of-a-kind gifts this Christmas.
