However the patterns weren’t sent to us prior to the day (there was a mess up with the email)… so they had to scrape together some on the day. I don’t know if it’s because of the pattern but my Mum had serious issues with the neck line and even the teacher couldn’t do it - after a 6 hour day she came back with a bit of fabric. My daughter didn’t get to the neck but it looks similar. Of course patterns are extra. And apparently I have a bill to look forward to for the fabric - who knows how much? They did offer for my daughter/ Mum to return free of charge to complete the dresses which is kind. They both liked the lady and would like to return. I guess I’m a bit more cynical and like to know what I’m paying for and get what I pay for.

The Nimble Thimble was started in 2009 by two friends Val Sandford and Jane Templeman who loved to craft but couldn’t find anywhere local.From this small beginning The Nimble Thimble was born and proved to be a huge success. So much so that it quickly out grew its premises in Bridge Street and moved to a larger space in Well Street, where it can still be found today.In 2020 Jane Hawkins took over and, together with Sara Blackwell and Kate Lowe, they aim to make The Nimble Thimble the one stop destination.2021 saw a facelift and reorganisation of the shop layout. This created more space for new yarn and crafts as well as dressmaking fabrics for the first time.
