Hi, I’m Debbie, the founder of Art Craft & Laughter in Plymouth. I’ve been running creative workshops for around nine years, and I absolutely love seeing people discover that they’re far more creative than they thought they were!Art Craft & Laughter grew from my own experience of suffering terribly with my mental health. During some of the hardest times in my life, I discovered how much creativity helped me. Making something gave my mind somewhere else to go for a while, a distraction, a focus and a chance to switch off from everything going on in my head. That experience eventually became Art Craft & Laughter. What started with my own need for creativity has grown into a wonderfully bonkers & welcoming space where we bring people together through art, craft and, as the name suggests, plenty of laughter.Our workshops are relaxed, friendly and definitely not about being perfect. You don’t need to be “arty” and you don’t need any experience. I’ll guide you through everything step by step. For me, the best workshops are the ones where people arrive feeling a little unsure and leave proudly carrying something they’ve made themselves.We run everything from painting and textile crafts to Kinusaiga, as well as private and workplace workshops across Plymouth and the surrounding area. I know from personal experience what a difference creativity can make to our wellbeing, but most importantly, I want people to come along, have fun, meet others and enjoy making something.
