In this diverse cooking workshop, you'll learn how to prepare curries from various global traditions beyond the familiar Indian varieties. Throughout the session, you'll develop essential spicing techniques while creating three distinctive curry dishes from different regions.
This hands-on activity welcomes participants of all skill levels, requiring no previous curry cooking experience. The process focuses on understanding regional variations in spicing and ingredients – perfect for expanding your culinary repertoire beyond typical restaurant offerings.
During the workshop, you'll prepare a herby Nepalese chicken curry with its distinctive mountain flavours, a fresh and zingy Malaysian Prawn and Pineapple curry showcasing Southeast Asian ingredients, and Paneer Makhani – a vegetarian version of butter chicken that highlights North Indian techniques. The class emphasises transferable skills that apply across many curry styles, providing you with the confidence to experiment with different spice combinations and cooking methods at home.
By the end of this flavourful workshop, you'll have created three distinct international curries and gained valuable knowledge about global curry traditions. The experience will encourage you to push beyond your comfort zone in curry cooking, armed with techniques that can be applied to countless other recipes.
