Crochet Hexagon Cardigan Workshop

Deceptive cardigan, that is simpler than you would believe

3 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests       £20

Do you love to crochet, want to learn to read a pattern, or are bored with making small granny squares or tiny animals? Then the Nimble Thimble has the workshop for you. Our crochet teacher will take you through step by step, over 2 sessions, on how to make this deceptive cardigan, which looks impressive but is much simpler to make than you would believe.
This cardigan is fun, interesting, and different from a standard cardigan. You start by making two large granny hexagons, which form part of the fronts, back, and sleeves. You then crochet the two pieces together, add borders, and finish the sleeve length. Simple! (Honestly!)
This cardigan can be crocheted using a variegated (self-patterning) yarn like Sirdar Jewelspun or using multiple single colours in Special DK or Highland Heathers DK. The Nimble Thimble stocks a wide range of colours in all three of these yarns, so you will be spoilt for choice.
By the end of the class, you will have the confidence and skills to continue working on the cardigan at home.

The Nimble Thimble was started in 2009 by two friends Val Sandford and Jane Templeman who loved to craft but couldn’t find anywhere local.
From this small beginning The Nimble Thimble was born and proved to be a huge success. So much so that it quickly out grew its premises in Bridge Street and moved to a larger space in Well Street, where it can still be found today.
In 2020 Jane Hawkins took over and, together with Sara Blackwell and Kate Lowe, they aim to make The Nimble Thimble the one stop destination.
2021 saw a facelift and reorganisation of the shop layout. This created more space for new yarn and crafts as well as dressmaking fabrics for the first time.
