Join this pottery workshop in Nottingham, a session that brings a contemporary twist to a traditional technique from our cultural ceramic heritage.
Slip trailing is a historical pottery method where a liquid clay mixture – called slip – is applied to the surface of earthenware to create intricate designs and textures.
In this hands-on session, you'll create three tiles and choose from different slip trailing techniques to decorate them. It's a relaxed and supportive environment, and no prior experience is required – just bring your creativity! This is a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) event, so feel free to bring your favourite drink to sip on. Tea, coffee and snacks will also be provided, and during the class, you'll take some time to explore the fascinating history and origins of slip trailing.
You’ll leave the workshop with a wonderful new skill, taking home three unique, hand-decorated pieces and a fresh appreciation for this timeless art form.
