Creative Beadwork Embroidery Workshop: Beaded Bugs

Slow down and lose yourself in the mindful art of bead embroidery in London!

3 hours

Class size 1 to 12 (public classes), 5 to 10
  £35

In this relaxed and creative embroidery workshop in London, you’ll learn the fundamentals of bead embroidery while bringing your own beautifully beaded bug to life. Working on fabric set within a small embroidery hoop, you’ll explore a variety of techniques and materials to create something truly unique.
Perfect for beginners or anyone with basic knowledge, this workshop is perfect for anyone looking to unwind through a slower, more intentional craft. Beadwork isn’t about speed or perfection -- it’s about patience, texture, and the quiet joy of making something by hand.
What to expect:
  • Choose your design from beetles, bees, ladybirds, flies, moths and butterflies -- then make it your own using a curated selection of beads in different shapes, sizes, and finishes.
  • Learn a range of bead embroidery techniques.
  • With guidance, learn to securely attach different types of beads.
  • Tips for building texture and dimension in your design.
  • How to plan and personalise your piece!
Come as you are, take your time, and enjoy a few hours of creative calm. By the end of the session, you’ll leave with your own finished (or well-started) beaded bug and the skills and materials to continue your beadwork journey at home.

  • 5/5 from Samantha Roberts, attended Jul 2026: My second time at Something Good Workshops, and I had a great time! This time I enjoyed ‘Beaded Bugs’. I always attend classes on my own, with the goal of really immersing myself in a new skill. Although socialising is option, generally the classes are pretty quiet. Everyone gets quite focused! But I enjoy the teacher moves around the room and gives constant feedback/commentary on how everyone is doing, breaking any silences. Plus there is cool, chilled music constantly playing. Everyone is very supportive and the atmosphere created is very positive! It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and I love my little ladybug.

Hi, we’re Emily and Jess, the creative minds behind Something Good Workshops!
Our journey began in 2019 when Emily launched Something Good Workshops (originally known as MADEptford) as a way to spread crafty joy and raise funds for running the London Marathon. What started as a one-time idea quickly grew into a passion for bringing people together through creativity. Since then, we’ve hosted a wide variety of workshops, from arm knitting to body casting, in all kinds of spaces - corporate offices, cosy pubs, pop-up shops, and even people’s homes.
After taking a short break, we’re back with fresh energy and an exciting new partnership. Jess has joined the team, and together, we’re on a mission to spark joy and empower people to explore their creativity in relaxing, welcoming spaces. We believe there’s something magical about slowing down, working with your hands, and leaving with something you’ve made yourself - whether it’s a chunky knit blanket, a personal shrine, or a collage bursting with personality.
What makes us unique? We’re all about creating an environment where people feel at ease, whether they’re a total beginner or a seasoned maker. Over the years, we’ve held workshops in so many different settings, and one thing always stands out: the joy people feel when they realize just how creative they can be.
We’re not just here to teach a craft - we’re here to help you unwind, have fun, and leave with a tangible reminder that you’re capable of making something good.
We can’t wait to meet you at a workshop soon!
