What you'll do
This lively and relaxed art activity in Milton Keynes is a brilliant way to learn new skills, with a different theme each month to get your ideas flowing. Your experienced tutor, Olivia, will provide reference pictures and images related to the theme and demonstrate new techniques. You'll receive plenty of individual guidance and encouragement, showing you how to create a beautiful piece of art to take home.This workshop will help you explore elements of figurative work, still life, automatic drawing, collage, and intuitive painting. You'll also learn how to communicate movement, gesture, colour, light, surface, and texture in your work. It's a wonderful opportunity for anyone, whether you're a beginner, an improver, or returning to art after a break.Your tutor, Olivia Mansfield, has over ten years of experience running creative workshops. Her own multidisciplinary art is rooted in classical painting, iconography, and historic culture, and she brings this wealth of knowledge to her teaching.Additional Information:
- Enjoy complimentary teas and coffees during your session. Please bring your own lunch and snacks.
- This workshop runs from 10am to 3pm, which includes a 30-minute lunch break.
- The activity will take place in the ground-floor Drawing Room, which has accessible access and parking.

Westbury Arts Centre, located on Milton Keynes’ west flank, by Shenley Wood, has been home to artists since the 1980s and a charity since 2013. Based in a Grade II listed building - a former 17th-Century moated manor house – the Centre offers 19 studios for permanent and temporary rent and also can provide a number of public rooms and exhibition spaces at affordable rates. Westbury offers a varied Events Programme to the public that includes creative workshops, exhibitions and events such as MK Open and Heritage Open Days.
