What you'll do
Make a beautiful decorative stained glass feather hanging using the copper foiling method at our studio in Staple Hill. This is the perfect workshop for beginners where you can learn all about the traditional craft of copper foiling.In this hands-on day course, you'll be able to choose from a wide selection of glass colours to make your feather hanging out of. You'll then learn how to cut and solder the glass pieces together and end the day with your own hanging for the home or garden. Our experienced tutor will enable you to get a good grounding in the core skills, whilst also enabling you to finish your piece during the day ready to take home and show off! Learn about different types of glass and choose from a wide range of colours and textures to suit your style.All materials and use of tools are included. Maximum of 6 students. The minimum age to attend is 16. Course times are 10am-4pm with a break for lunch.

What to bring
Please wear closed-toed shoes and tie back long hair. Please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or bring an apron. Due to the use of lead, it is recommended that pregnant women do not attend. Use of a soldering flux derived from animal fat is necessary on this course, so regrettably, it is not vegan.Tea and coffee are included during the day, but please bring your own lunch or pick something up from the local High Street. There is ample free parking in the streets outside and around the venue.

We are a creative studio based in Staple Hill offering a wide range of craft courses, classes and workshops from sewing, dressmaking, stained glass, printmaking, upholstery, crochet, weaving and much more. Our classes run 7 days a week and we have activities for adults and kids during the day and evening. Why not learn a new skill or improve one you already have at a one of our exciting workshops? Our studio space is also available to hire.
