What could be more special than hand crafting your own contemporary ring?

We welcome you to the beautiful Wyresdale Park Estate to participate in one of our exclusive days which are held throughout the year. Our students learn ancient jewellery techniques and we guide them to make something extremely unique and personal. The day includes full hospitality and fizz.

During the workshop, you will learn the art of designing for wax carving, explore the properties of different forms of wax, and gain practical experience using wax carving tools to bring your unique design to life. By the end of the day, you will have a finished wax carved master ready to be cast into a sterling silver ring, which you get to take home as a precious keepsake.

The day
9.30 am Start and welcome with tea and coffee and pastries.
10.00 am Demonstration and design session with Rachel.
1.00 pm Afternoon tea courtesy of the fabulous Apple Store.
2.00 pm Afternoon practical -- perfecting your designs in wax.
4.30 pm Celebration of your work with a glass of fizz.

You will learn:

  • Designing for wax carving.
  • Properties of different forms of wax.
  • Using wax carving tools to achieve your designs.
  • Making finished wax carved masters ready to cast.

Afternoon tea: Selection of freshly made sandwiches, yummy cakes, scones with jam and cream, all served on a traditional carousel with tea or filter coffee. Locally sourced and homemade by The Apple Store. Vegetarian and vegan afternoon teas are also available.

Precious metal upgrades: Your rings will be made in sterling silver which is included in the cost of the day. We do offer a precious metal upgrade service where you will have the choice of 9ct and 18ct yellow or white gold, platinum and rose gold. We will weigh the waxes at the end of the day and give you the price differences. You don’t have to make the decision as to whether you want to upgrade until this time.

Exclusive private days: We can accommodate private days with a luxury hospitality option if you would like to have the day to yourself.
