What you'll do
Come and learn how to use a nib and ink to achieve beautiful modern and contemporary calligraphy lettering at this creative class in Southampton.
Guided by Sunita, an accredited tutor with the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society, this workshop will help you brush up on your penmanship as you complete basic letterforms, which you can then adapt to your own style choices.
You'll be guided step-by-step throughout the workshop and receive handy demonstrations from your teacher, so don't worry if you're not sure how to write in calligraphy. With a little help and support from Sunita, you'll be curving your cursive and creating beautiful lettering art before you know it!
At the end of this class, you'll have a fantastic understanding of modern and contemporary calligraphy along with all the skills you need to create stunning cards, invitations, envelopes, wall art and many other projects.

I’m Sunita, an accredited tutor with the national organisation, the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society. From traditional to modern, I run workshops for anyone wanting to learn more about calligraphy. You don’t need any previous experience - just come and have a go!
Calligraphy is incredibly relaxing and absorbing. You’ll be writing words in no time and be able to apply your skill to cards, envelopes, place names and personalise all sorts of projects. Perhaps you’d like to start practising for a special event like a wedding or a new baby. I’ll help you step by step. My challenge is to get you addicted to calligraphy!
